Directors & Officers

First Guaranty Bank is Jacksonville owned, directed and operated for the benefit of the greater Jacksonville community. There is no mystery here... all decisions about the bank are made by people with deep roots in Jacksonville whose mission is to serve their community by their service on the board.

Julian E. (Hickory) Fant, Jr. was elected to the Board in 1960 and serves as the Bank's Chairman. He has served as president of the Florida Bankers Association and is a former member of the Jacksonville City Council. Mr. Fant is a Jacksonville native.

Julian E. (Jay) Fant III was elected to the Board in 1994. Mr. Fant, a native of Jacksonville, serves as Chief Executive Officer of the Bank. He is also a member of the Florida Bar.

Alford C. Sinclair was elected to the Board in 1988 and has resided in Jacksonville since 1976. He serves as President of the Capital Companies specializing in bank consulting. Mr. and Mrs. Sinclair are the only Jacksonville couple in which each has served as president of the Jacksonville Symphony.

Douglas J. Milne joined the Board in 1990 and serves on the Trust Committee. He is the senior partner of the law firm of Milne & Buckingham and President of Doug Milne Company (manufacturer's agents/merchandise brokers). Mr. Milne has served as president of numerous civic organizations, and is a native of Jacksonville.

Edward McCarthy III joined the Board in 1996. He is a partner in the law firm of Rogers, Towers, Bailey, Jones, and Gay, P.A. specializing in commercial litigation. A native of Jacksonville, Mr. McCarthy has served as president of Young Life.

Caldwell L. (Hank) Haynes was elected to the Board in 1997. Mr. Haynes, a native of Jacksonville, is President of Haynes, Peters & Bond Co. Inc. (Florida's oldest independent insurance agency, founded in 1877). He is a former chairman of the PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP.
